Listeria Concerns

Listeria is a bacteria that can cause serious infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of Listeria infection can include fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. In severe cases, Listeria can cause meningitis or bloodstream infections.

Walmart has not received any reports of illness related to the recalled broccoli. However, the company is taking the recall seriously and is working with Mann Packing Co. to investigate the source of the contamination.

Customers with questions about the recall can contact Walmart customer service at 1-800-925-6278. For more information on Listeria and Listeria infection, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at www.cdc.gov/listeria.
